That’s the number of stitches I had to cast on to begin the Ladies Jacquard Sweater Vest.  Using fingering weight yarn.  On size US2/2.75mm needles.  Twice.

The first time I twisted the stitches when I joined for the round.  I have literally NEVER done that before.  Of course the first time for that mistake had to be on a project with several hundred stitches cast on.  Fortunately the second time was a success, or I might have chucked the yarn and the needles across the room and found something else to start.

A pretty inauspicious start, but (right now) the knitting is mindless and dead-easy.  I need this right now, but I’m really looking forward to being done with the ribbing.  I’m two rows shy of the halfway point.  I can’t wait to get on to the “good stuff” – the colorwork!
